Pay-For-Performance PR Launched to Meet Market Demand. Matrix Marketing Group Defines Program to Eliminate Publicity Risks, Guarantee Results
Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 12, 2004 -
Events earlier this year in Los Angeles (see below) and elsewhere have placed traditional annual-service public relations agreements and monthly retainers under the microscope. The result has been a marketplace asking for a new public relations model that includes performance-centric fees and monthly accountability statements in place of retainers. These same features are key elements in the Pay-for-Performance Program.
Matrix Marketing GroupÂs Pay-for-Performance Public Relations Program includes the following principals:
Newsworthy clients are best suited to the ÂPay-for-Performance program.
Clients pay only for actual media placements.
Media lists are predetermined.
Programs start with a minimum six month commitment and use an established escrow account to insure performance matches expectations.
The client receives a monthly statement reflecting any charges against the account, with copies of the placement.
A detailed price list provides pricing for successful placements as well as related writing and marketing services.
In January of this year, an investigative reporter for the Los Angeles Times noted that city watchdog officials in Los Angeles were examining hourly rates and billing practices of the PR agency giant Fleishman-Hillard. The result was a front page tale in the Times, and the eventual loss of Fleishman-HillardÂs .6 million engagement with the city. WhatÂs more, Mayor Jim Hahn soon canceled all city contracts with other PR agencies. With accusations still flying, the bottom-line concern appears to have been accountability. Government officials acknowledged the need for positive PR, but simply could not match up the dollar spent with the dollar delivered. Some have called this LA flap the beginning of the end of the ancient retainer model in public relations.
Clients signing up for MatrixÂs new accountability PR program include everything from hefty mid-sized companies such as Wacom Technologies, the Vancouver, Washington-based firm with over three million worldwide users of its pen tablet computer technology, to smaller businesses such as the upscale Highlands WineSeller, located near DenverÂs Tech Center.

Mastering Wedding Photojournalism Techniques with Bob Davis, Sponsored by Canon
Bob Davis believes that the power of photojournalism lies in its ability to tell a tale, by documenting moments in time and reflecting them back to the viewer. His passion has taken him around the globe, pursuing meaningful storytelling opportunities that cross cultural barriers and show others how we live, work, celebrate and worship. Bob likes to photograph weddings for the pure joy and emotion of the occasion. Capturing those fleeting moments makes a record of one of the most vital days in a couple’s life. Bob covers weddings with the same energy, enthusiasm and professionalism that he brought to his award-winning photojournalism career.
For Bob, being welcomed into the sacred tradition of a wedding is a privilege, and ensures that he never failed to focus on the details and special moments that every wedding offers. Wedding photojournalism is not only capturing the pomp and circumstance in pictures, but also making a record of a defining moment in the lives of two families, forever joined as one. The basic traditions are time-honored and right, but the details are unique and intimately personal. The photographs become a living archive, preserved for generations to come, allowing others to reflect on those images and recall all of the like bestowed on the nuptials that day.
After attending Columbia College in Chicago, Bob started working full-time in the field of photojournalism. He spent 14 years as an award-winning photographer at the Chicago Sun-Times. He also does work for several publications such as Time, People, the American Bar Association Journal, and Chicago Tribune Sunday Magazine. His clients include Oprah Winfrey, Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Draft Worldwide Advertising. He was commissioned to work on the America 24/7 book, which was featured on the Oprah Winfrey show and was a New York Times Best Seller.
